Vineyards
With an emphasis on the vineyards in Haardt and Hambach, our origins extend south along the German Wine Route, highlighting the best sites in the wine villages of Edenkoben, Rhodt, Frankweiler, Siebeldingen, and Godramstein. The diversity of the Palatinate terroirs is unique, as no parcel of land shares the same climate or soil conditions.
Haardt Herzog
Finding a location like the Herzog took us a long time: in perfectly exposed slopes, the vines stretch out, deeply rooted in limestone, reaching toward the sun. Here, wines come to life with great structure, juicy spice, and a lively kick of acidity.
Haardt Bürgergarten
In the Haardter Bürgergarten, our vines are deeply rooted in a soil mix of clay marl and yellow Haardt sandstone. But it’s not just the soil — the unique southeast exposure, the slope, and the cooling wind from the nearby forest border also provide ideal conditions for the creation of great wines.
Hambach Feuer
The wild and barren cliffs recall those of France's Rhône Valley. Optimal conditions for the Viognier and Syrah vines that thrive in what I like to call my own personal "La Chapelle". In summer, the grapes undergo a natural "trial by fire" as they ripen to perfection in the barren colored sandstone soils. Fire, body, fruit: something wicked this way comes!
Edenkoben Schwarzer Letten
On this plateau near Edenkoben, some of our best Syrah vineyards are located. The rocky soil is poor and has an extremely barren subsoil. An incredibly hot and dry site—perfectly suited for the signature grape of the Rhône.
Nussdorf Kaiserberg
The Kaiserberg in Nussdorf is threaded through with limestone veins. The Pinot Noir clone growing in this 10-year old vineyard produces extremely small berries and loose clusters.
Frankweiler Kalkgrube
The Kalkgrube is situated on a steep, south-facing slope below the Palatinate Forest. Its historical name derives from its former use as a limestone quarry for house construction.
Godramstein Münzberg
The Münzberg is located on a south-facing hill with soils of Keuper and shell limestone. The cooling summer winds from the Annweiler Valley create an optimal microclimate for all Pinot varieties.
Siebeldingen Im Sonnenschein
In the well-known and truly sun-drenched location just north of Siebeldingen, a hill rises at the foot of the Palatinate Forest. On this hilltop lie our vineyard parcels, some in the highest plot, 'Auf dem Berg' (200 meters above sea level), with a strong southward slope.
Appenhofen Steingebiss
Nomen est omen! This single vineyard Steingebiss (stone biter) produces wines that brilliantly reflect the quartz-filled clay soils. With the exceptionally racy and piquant minerality, this Sauvignon Blanc is a highlight within our collection.
